All Day “Morning Sickness” - How To Deal With It

Morning sickness is a bit of a misnomer. As almost any woman who has experienced morning sickness can tell you, morning sickness is rarely restricted to the morning. It can occur at any time of the day at all. In fact, some women never experience the nausea that comes with pregnancy in the morning at all, but only experience it at other times of the day. Some unfortunate women wind up with all day morning sickness. Knowing just exactly how to deal with all day morning sickness can be something of a challenge. Fortunately, there are some things that you can try that may help you deal with it.

First of all, you can try to deal with your all day morning sickness by making dietary changes. Foods that are spicy, or foods that are high in fats, tend to trigger nausea. In addition, foods that have especially strong aromas, even good aromas, can tend to cause morning sickness for the pregnant woman. In addition, eating several small and frequent snacks throughout the day can sometimes help you to deal with all day morning sickness, rather than having three larger meals. This is because eating frequent small meals allows you to keep your stomach from being either too full or from you being too hungry.

One common trigger of morning sickness in pregnant women can be their prenatal vitamin. Sometimes, the high content of iron that is contained in prenatal vitamins can trigger nausea. If you suspect your prenatal vitamin may be at the cause of your all day morning sickness, you should speak with your health care provider about other options for prenatal vitamins.

You might also try a variety of different remedies for your all day morning sickness. Many women have found relief by using ginger products, such as ginger tea or ginger root supplements. Some women with all day morning sickness have had luck with motion sickness bands or sea bands. Sometimes, eating a cracker or a rice cake might settle down your nausea right away, as well.

If your all day morning sickness is accompanied by severe or prolonged nausea, you should speak with your health care provider.
