Anti-Colic Bottles

Share |

There have been tons of remedies offered throughout the years for babies with colic. Some of them have been more effective than others, though we wouldn’t want to knock anything that’s worked for any parent with a colicky baby. One of the more recent innovations, which seems to be providing dramatic improvements for many parents of babies with colic is the anti-colic bottle.

Specially designed to prevent any air bubbles from getting into the bottle, anti-colic bottles are designed to help baby feed without taking in gulps of air, which are believed by many to cause gas and digestive issues that may very well be the cause of colic.

Can the bottles completely prevent colic in every case? Unfortunately, no, but they can reduce the chances that your baby will have colic, and possibly reduce the severity of your baby’s bouts of colic if he does have colic. And as any parent of a colicky baby will tell you, any reduction in the time a bout with colic takes is a good reduction.

The anti colic bottles are just starting to hit retail shelves, so you may need to look long and hard to find them. At present, you’re better off ordering them online, as there just aren’t many stores which are carrying them yet. We suspect that, if parents continue to have good results with the anti-colic bottles, you will soon see more of them on department and grocery store shelves.

At present, the bottles are fairly expensive compared to regular bottles, with a three pack generally costing about $12. But, if they can reduce the chances and/or severity of colic, most parents would agree that it’s money very well spent. In any case, time will tell if they catch on.

If you have a baby with colic now, though, you probably don’t want to wait to see whether or not these bottles become the latest rage. What you want is some relief for your baby (and you), and the sooner the better. That’s why we recommend, if you decide to try the new anti-colic bottles, that you seek to order them online, as it is often faster than trying to find a store which carries them.
