Are There All-Natural Baby Bath Products?

The fact of the matter is that a baby’s skin is different from an adult’s skin. In fact, isn’t it often a “baby’s bottom” that we compare something to when we talk about how smooth it is? Because a baby’s skin is so much more sensitive than an adult’s skin, it is important that we treat a baby’s skin differently than we would an adult’s skin. An adult’s skin may be able to deal better with things like preservatives and dyes, whereas a baby’s skin may not. In addition to all of this, it is not uncommon for a baby to have an allergic reaction to some of the ingredients in regular bath products. For this reason, many parents have turned to all-natural baby bath products for their little one.

All natural baby bath products have some advantages over regular bath products. Many of the baby bath products that are available may contain ingredients that really aren’t the best for our babies. Some baby care products may contain pesticides, or have been exposed to toxic chemicals or fertilizers. Some baby care products may contain medications that may or may not be beneficial to your baby, and some of which will have a variety of side effects. All natural baby bath products avoid these sorts of concerns.

There are two specific ingredients that many regular bath products have that all natural baby bath products will not have. First of all, there is generally no sodium lauryl sulfate in all natural baby bath products. Second, all natural baby bath products tend not to have an analgesic. It is this analgesic that makes many other bath products “tear-free.” While the idea that a baby bath product is “tear-free” can be appealing to a parent, the fact of the matter is that the analgesic isn’t necessarily the best thing for the baby. Many parents just don’t want to use artificial chemicals to numb their baby into not being bothered by a bath product.

There are a variety of all-natural baby bath products on the market. There are shampoos, soaps, body washes, and even herbal baby baths that parents are able to choose from.
