Dermabrasion And Stretch Marks

Stretch marks are an unfortunate part of life for many people. Whether you have stretch marks from pregnancy, or whether your stretch marks came as a result of a period of rapid weight loss or rapid weight gain, unsightly stretch marks can affect your self-image, and can make you feel rather unattractive. While stretch marks do fade over time, they generally won’t just disappear on their own. Usually, stretch marks will require some form of treatment in order to lessen their impact. Dermabrasion is one of the ways that people have used in order to help treat skin that has experienced stretch marks.

Dermabrasion, also known as microdermabrasion, is a procedure during which the treatment provider will use a dermabrasion device on your skin. This device will cause your skin to be broken up by a fine spray of crystals. These may be salt crystals, aluminum oxide crystals, sodium bicarbonate crystals, or even diamond-tipped crystals. In some cases, dermabrasion treatment may use more than one type of crystal. There is a similar procedure under which a vacuum-style device is used to remove dead skin, which will help to enhance the skin texture. Often, a person will need several dermabrasion treatments to effectively deal with their stretch marks. Dermabrasion, whether it is for the purpose of treating stretch marks or some other purpose, is generally performed by a qualified and licensed health care provider.

Prior to trying dermabrasion to treat stretch marks, many people will consider the use of a variety of skin creams and lotions. Some of these creams and lotions are more effective than others. There are even all-natural, plant-based oils and lotions, some of which use herbs like chamomile and other ingredients like Vitamin E to help reduce the impact of stretch marks. Many people have found that these sorts of treatments work for them, and eliminate the need to consider a radical treatment like dermabrasion to help with their stretch marks.

Can Certain Foods Cause Diaper Rash?

Diaper rash is all too common in infants. Diaper rash appears as an irritated area on the baby’s skin. There may be pink or red bumps, or it may appear as red marks. In some cases, diaper rash may even look like poison oak. Diaper rash can be caused by a variety of things. In some cases, diaper rash can even be caused by certain foods.

Before deciding whether your baby’s diaper rash was caused by eating a certain food, however, it is important to rule out the other possible causes of diaper rash. In many cases, diaper rash is going to be caused just by friction. This will typically happen in the areas of the diaper that have elastic. So, the thigh areas and the waist area tend to be where this sort of diaper rash occurs. In other cases, diaper rash may be caused by irritants. This can happen when the baby goes too long without a diaper change. Prolonged exposure to urine or feces can irritate your baby’s skin. If none of these things seems to be the case, it may be that your baby’s diaper rash was caused by certain foods.

Typically, food will only cause diaper rash if your child has an allergic reaction to that certain food. In most cases, if an infant has an allergic reaction to food, you will probably be able to see other signs. It may be, for example, that the baby breaks out elsewhere on the skin. It may be that your baby’s tummy is upset. An allergic reaction to certain foods for an infant can sometimes be hard to diagnose. If you believe that your baby may have developed diaper rash as a result of eating certain foods, you should speak with your health care provider. Being able to identify the possible food allergy will save your baby and you a great deal of frustration, both in terms of diaper rash and in the other ways that a food allergy will affect a baby.
