  How To Conceive A Boy

If you want to conceive a boy, you should know that, apart from intervention by a fertility specialist, you really cannot guarantee success. You need to accept up front that your efforts to conceive a boy rather than a girl may be met with failure. Having said that, there are some things that you may be able to do to increase your chances to conceive a boy.

First, you should know how gender is determined. A man’s sperm will determine what gender the child will be. The sperm that produce boys have the Y chromosome. The sperm that produce girls have the x chromosome. The boy-producing sperm are smaller, weaker, and faster than the girl-producing sperm. As such, the boy-producing sperm are more vulnerable than girl-producing sperm, but they are most likely to reach the egg first, as well, if they can survive.

To conceive a boy, then, you need to do everything you can to help the boy-producing sperm get to the egg alive. This means, first of all, that you should time your attempts at conception right around ovulation. Generally, you will want to try to conceive on the day that you ovulate, and perhaps the day before. If you have intercourse sooner than this, it is likely that the boy-producing sperm would die off, leaving only girl-producing sperm. If you wait until after you ovulate, you are less likely to become pregnant at all.

There are other things that you may be able to do to conceive a boy. Having intercourse that involves deep penetration, such as with the rear-entry position, you can deposit the sperm closer to the cervix, and further away from the acidic environment of the vagina. In addition, it is thought that the secretions that a woman’s body makes during an orgasm will help the sperm along, as well, so you may want to try to make sure that you have an orgasm when you are trying to conceive.

Following these steps will not guarantee that you will conceive a boy, but they may increase your overall chances.
