Is There Software Available To Help Me Track My Fertility?

Couples who are trying to conceive have a great number of aids right at their fingertips. From ovulation predictor kits (OPKs) to saliva-based ovulation tests to basal body thermometers, there are many technological tools that couples can use. There is even software available that can help you to track your fertility.

Software program that help you track your fertility rely on a variety of factors. For the most part, you need to be able to know how to check your basal body temperature, and how to examine your cervical mucus. Software that helps you to track your fertility will take the information you give to it about your basal body temperature, as well as the volume, color, and consistency of your cervical mucus, and process that information to help you predict when you will be the most fertile.

After tracking your fertility for a few months using software, the program should be able to help you accurately predict when exactly it is that you are most fertile during the month. The software does this by calculating those changes to basal body temperature and cervical mucus that you have observed, and thereby predicting how many days after your period begins that you will ovulate.

This sort of software helps you to take charge of your own fertility. In addition to the software that helps you to track your fertility, you will need to have a basal thermometer. A basal thermometer needs to be accurate to one tenth of a degree Fahrenheit, or 0.05 of a degree Celsius. In addition, you need to know what it is that you are looking for in terms of your cervical mucus. Your cervical mucus will change throughout your cycle, going from no cervical mucus during and right after your period, to a larger amount of cervical mucus, which will resemble the white of an egg in color and consistency, during the time that you ovulate.

While software obviously can’t fix any fertility problems you might have, it can certainly help you to track your fertility in such as way as to be able to time your attempts at conception appropriately.
