  Natural Infant Hygiene Products

Infant hygiene creates a large amount of unnecessary waste. For parents that use packaged diapers, this includes not only the diapers themselves but the baby wipes and other materials that are involved in keeping their infant clean and healthy. For this reason, many parents have turned to using more natural infant hygiene products, such as good old-fashioned cloth diapers that are one hundred percent cotton. Instead of using baby wipes that are disposable, these parents may also choose to use towels or rags for cleaning up their little one as well.

There are also parents who advocate for not using diapers at all. Advocates of a school of thought known as “Natural Infant Hygiene” choose not to use diapers, whether they are packaged or whether they are cloth. In fact, these folks rarely use any actual hygiene products. After around the sixth month of age, this method of parenting relies on the ability of the parents to learn to hear and react to the baby’s needs, watching for those signs that the baby is about to have a bowel movement, for example. The products that these folks use the most are things that help them to understand their infant’s signals, and to know when a hygiene issue is about to take place.

There are any number of natural infant hygiene products available, regardless of what sort of approach you take to infant hygiene. For those that use packaged diapers, there are some brands that use more recycled content than others. There are even baby wipes that are free of all of those perfumes, allergens, and other artificial ingredients that can be used. In terms of cloth diapers, there are even a variety of natural infant hygiene products available as well, including cloth diapers that are made by hand as opposed to those that are manufacturer.

Ultimately, care for your infant and for your infant’s hygiene is up to you as a parent. The good news is that the variety of natural infant hygiene products available today should suit just about anyone’s approach to infant hygiene.
