What Changes Will Occur To My Body During My Pregnancy?

Share |

There is almost no other condition that will have as dramatic an effect on a woman’s body as pregnancy. The changes that will occur to your body during your pregnancy are many, and these changes are often severe. Many of these changes tend to be uncomfortable, and some are painful. Some of the changes that will occur to your body during your pregnancy are little more than a mild irritation.

Some of the first sorts of changes that will occur to your body during pregnancy are those early pregnancy signs. You might notice some implantation bleeding, which is a light bleeding that may occur after the fertilized egg implants into the wall of the uterus. You might experience morning sickness during that first trimester of your pregnancy; in fact, it is estimated that more than 70% of women will experience some amount of morning sickness. Tenderness of the breasts and the need to urinate frequently are other early changes that may occur to your body during these early stages of your pregnancy. The most obvious change that occurs to your body during your pregnancy is that you stop having a period altogether.

There are other changes that will occur to your body as your pregnancy continues. You will at first start to show a bit, from the growing baby inside of you. Eventually, of course, you will have a full-sized lump in your tummy, as your baby nears your delivery date. You might also see a little bit of extra weight around the hips, and it is also likely that your breasts will swell and become more firm. Your areolas may also become darker during your pregnancy.

There are other changes that may or may not occur to your body during your pregnancy. You might, for example, have aching joints. You may experience an increase in acne. You might develop stretch marks on the abdomen region. Your tummy muscles may start to ache as they stretch and work in order to hold your baby in place. Many women experience light-headedness during pregnancy. Heartburn and constipation are also common during pregnancy, as are hemorrhoids.

While every woman is different, and every pregnancy is different, rest assured that you will experience at least some of these changes to your body during your pregnancy.
