  What Is Pre-Seed Lubricant?

Share |

One of the more difficult things about trying to conceive, for some couples, is the fact that they are unable to use lubricants during intercourse. The fact of the matter is that, especially as a woman ages, she is likely to become more and more dry in her vaginal area, which can cause problems when having sex. In addition, stress can contribute to vaginal dryness, and often the stress over trying to conceive is just enough to cause a problem.

Even more frustrating for the couple that is trying to conceive is that this problem is complicated and even multiplied by the fact that many over-the-counter lubricants that are available for couples can be harmful to sperm, and therefore interfere with the couple’s attempt at conception. Many of these lubricants are actually toxic to sperm, and others contain a spermicide, such as nonoxynol-9 or another spermicide.

Ideally, the couple who is trying to conceive will not need the help of a lubricant. The naturally occurring vaginal secretions would be sufficient lubrication for intercourse. For many women, enough foreplay will cause her to be sufficiently lubricated. However, when it does happen that the couple trying to conceive needs a little help in terms of lubricant, there are options available. For example, there are lubricants such as Pre-Seed Lubricant that not only provide the moisture that can enhance intercourse, but that are actually more friendly to sperm than other over-the-counter lubricants.

Pre-Seed Lubricant is specifically designed to keep from being an obstacle to sperm. Regular lubricants can prevent sperm from moving up the vaginal path to the cervical mucus, which then carries the sperm to the fallopian tubes. Pre-Seed Lubricant and other sperm-friendly lubricants are designed to be patterned after the body’s natural secretions. Pre-Seed Lubricant has the same pH that semen does, which helps to protect the semen from the acidic environment in the vaginal. Pre-Seed lubricant is even thought to help protect cell function, thereby increasing chance of a successful conception.
