  Will An Organic Diet Help Me With Breastfeeding?

The fact of the matter is that your diet while breastfeeding can impact your baby’s health. Just about any food or substance that you take in to your body, whether it is good or bad, can either be passed along to your baby, or affect your body in such a way that it is going to impact your breast milk. For this reason, many women have chosen to use an organic diet while breastfeeding.

There are some reasons that women believe that an organic diet may help with breastfeeding. For example, an organic diet is, on average, going to contain higher levels of nutrients like vitamin C, iron, calcium, magnesium, and chromium, and are going to contain higher levels of antioxidants. In addition to this, an organic diet may help with breastfeeding in regard to the things that an organic diet does not contain. An organic diet will not contain food additives, for example. These additives have, in some cases, been linked to health problems such as migraine headaches, heart disease, and even hyperactivity. In addition, an organic diet avoids those pesticides that are often used in conventional farming.

In addition to these things, an organic diet can help you with breastfeeding in that an organic diet avoids genetically modified ingredients. An organic diet avoids the antibiotics often used on farm animals and, while there is not yet a strong body of evidence, there is some reason to think that the antibiotics used on farm animals may have a detrimental effect on humans.

On top of all of this, advocates of an organic diet argue that organic food may just taste better. There is also the idea that organic farming is better for the environment and for wildlife than traditional farming. Finally, organic farming is also thought to be more compassionate in terms of the way that animals are cared for.
